Thinking Fast and Slow 📕🧠

💬 have you read this book?

why do we think the way we do? Is our thinking determined by cultural and societal factors and are we truly independent thinkers? 💭

This is what Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman explores in this book. 🏆

Kahneman explains that there are two systems when it comes to considering judgment and choice. This first system is fast and automatic in comparison to the second system which is slower and more deliberate.
🧠🤓

System 1 operates automatically and quickly, with little or no effort and no sense of voluntary control. System 2 allocates attention to the effortful mental activities that demand it, including complex computations. The operations of System 2 are often associated with the subjective experience of agency, choice, and concentration. One of the tasks of system 2 is to overcome the impulses of System 1. In other words, system 2 is in charge of self-control.💯 💯

Your brain HATES using energy. It wants to be a place, it wants to be relaxed. It likes things that are familiar, it like things that are simple to understand. It is drawn to things that make it feel like it's in a safe environment.

understanding both systems helps us to make the right choices in life.
